I was driving home last night in my 1990 NA. When I went to shift into 5th gear, my shifter went all the way to the right, and up (further than it should). At first I was excited, and thought I had gained some extra gears, until I clutched out, and the car was not in gear at all. Between then and now, it has progressively gotten worse 1,2, 5, & R are all difficult to find, there is too much slack all around the shifter gate. I also had to physically hold the shifter in 1st gear, and Reverse, to keep it in those gears.

What the shit have I done?

The car received a used engine, new F1 flywheel/ Exedy clutch & plate, over 2 months ago. I have not had any issues at all (other that timing). The tranny only has 108K on it. I had a mechanic driving the car on Saturday morning, and this problem was non-existent.

I bring to up often to the wife and she is pretty much on board if it means keeping the Speed 3 a daily driver. She on the other hand is more in favor of a second gen. Any way, the main point is I am looking for any suggestions for sites where there are more 7s for sale. Craig's list is hit or miss and there is nothing here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'll start it off.

Tonight around 11-1115pm, at McD's on Bragg Blvd and Sycamore Dairy 2010 Mz3 Sedan, Black, black rims with silver lip, exhaust, and system. Acting a fool, i assume it was them trying to show off. Reving the motor, playing some sorta well i dont know what kind of music it was loud. I was not impressed.

I know alot of you guys have enjoyed going to this show previously and this looks like another big year!
This years honored marque will be Volkswagen so you can bet there will be a big turnout for this one, last year (even with the rain and cold) had 496 cars on display and this year I am proud to say that the Performance Center is back on board, but at the moment they do not have the schedule showing what cars will be available to drive or what events are planned just yet.

Their is a nominal fee that goes to a good cause if you drive any of the Performance Center stuff but it's not too expensive and alot of fun, previous stuff has included wet skidpad, dry/wet autoX, small road course, etc. all in M5's and 335i vehicles, also an X5 off road course.
I don't know if it will be like that again, but it seems like it should be judging by past shows, the show itself is FREE.

The Euro Auto Fest is at the BMW center in Greer,SC and it runs from 9 to 3 ish on Saturday, October 16th, 2010.
They always have good German food, wine and Beer on hand for a logical price plus ever dream car you could pretty much think of and some stuff you have only seen in photos!

Here is a link

I hope to see some of you there!

Tom

Hey guys and gals!

Here's the deal:
I'm currently running an Injen CAI on the car. It has that hydro-shield mesh plus an old Injen cover I found from my old STI that fits on our filter perfectly. During this weeken's flash 1 hour thunderstorm, I experienced some very harsh hesitations when I tried to get on the gas. I was probably going about 40-50mph, on 4th gear I believe. When I got home, I did notice that there was a couple of drops of water on the MAF sensor. How moisture got in there, after the mesh and the additional cover is beyond me, but those are the facts.

So here's the plan:
1. I want to turn my CAI into an SRI with the help from a band saw. Has anyone tried this before?

I know the obvious response is buy a COBB SRi, but I'm getting rid of the car before the end of the year, and I dont want to spend any more money on it.

Has anyone tried this? Pros/Cons?

Discuss.

There are no set details as of yet, but we are thinking sometime in mid September. This could be anywhere from just a simple meet and greet all the way up to an event with a BBQ caterer and a DJ of some sort. Im just posting this for a feeler to see whom would be interested. Ill keep everyone posted with more details in the near future.
